Iron Bastion
"Iron Bastion" is an environment I created in Blender. The render depicts a towering bastion-like structure encircled by massive, high-reaching circular walls. The buildings feature glowing orange windows, evoking the look of apartment complexes with a brutalist aesthetic. The central structure is connected to the surrounding complex by a series of bridges, enhancing the fortress-like design.
Behind The Process
All assets were modeled by me. I used basic geometry and texture setups to achieve the final look. The surrounding complex was built by creating a single section and using an array modifier to form the circular shape. I then created a variation of the building to add diversity to the design. The windows are made from a glass material, with their faces duplicated and slightly scaled behind the original. I applied an image texture of a building to these duplicates, which act as an emission source, producing the distinctive orange glow and adding depth to the scene.
I color-corrected and graded the render in Lightroom, primarily increasing the saturation and contrast to enhance the overall look. I also applied a slight blur towards the top of the render to create the illusion of atmospheric depth, making it appear so distant that details fade. Afterwards, I brought the image into Photoshop, where I added subtle color variations to break up the scene and introduced steam/smoke effects to enhance the atmosphere.
